About Me and this blog:
I used to be a division 1 collegiate rower. I loved my sport and was very good at it. When I stopped rowing I felt a little lost. I gained much more weight than was healthy and I developed various injuries.
I’m married to an Ultrarunner (one who runs races of greater distance than the marathon). One day while I was watchin him run a marathon, I decided that I didn’t want to always be on the sideline. So I started running again. It was painful, slow, and boy did I ever want to give up. But within a few weeks I went from barely being able to run a mile without walking, to running a 5k. A few months after that, I was running my first half marathon.
This blog is a log of the sports and activities I’m participating in while I work on getting faster, stronger, healthier and getting closer to being able to accept any physical challenge that is presented to me.
This isn’t a blog about a person who is going to win the races, this is a blog about a person who is finding success in the simple completion of the race/hike/workout.
